Flexible seating and exposure to a print rich classroom allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times students will be able to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students have limited opportunities for flexible seating. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating and inspiring them. I'm requesting print rich materials such as enhanced nameplates, nameplate protectors, and fluency passages, to ensure my classroom has a variety of texts for students to learn from, whether it be a nameplate at their desk, or passages they can read with a buddy in order to make the most of our learning days. In addition, I'm requesting a large visible timer and partitions.This will help to ensure each child feels independent and successful daily by allowing students to gain an understanding of time management and independent work spaces. These materials help address standards: RF1.4 and SL1.1
