The first grade students that I teach were required to spend their kindergarten year in distance learning. Teachers worked hard to engage students as we taught their classes virtually but there were some experiences we just couldn't fabricate through a computer. Hands on, play-based learning with the standards we were teaching was near impossible. Historically, teachers find splitting students into small groups to work on the subjects we are teaching serves several purposes; to reinforce learning and for the students to have the opportunity to teach and learn from their classmates. I have selected several fun and engaging centers that will be appropriate for all skill levels and experiences in first grade. The discourse that will be available through the students working together is invaluable to growth at all levels. This is something that they did not have available in the year of distance learning. The math centers that I have selected through Lakeshore will address the following Nevada Academic Standards: 1.OA.A, 1.OA.B, 1.OA.C, 1.OA.D, 1. NBT.A, 1.NBTB.B, 1.G.A. The ELA centers that I have selected through Lakeshore will address the following Nevada Academic Standards: RL.1.(1-7&9-10), RI.1.(1-10) RF.1.(1),RF.1.(1)a,RF.1.(2),RF.1.(2)a-d, RF.1.(3),RF.1.(3)a-g,RF.1.(4),RF.1.(4)a-c
