My students are on a journey to learn in a new and expanded way that includes learning in different locations. Sometimes they are at home and sometimes they are at school. The change can be instant and unexpected. The transitions need to be seamless so their leaning is left unaffected. I would like to provide my students with a basic scientific calculator so that they can do the calculations needed at school or at home. Many of my students do not have the ability to buy these on their own. A calculator in their hand allows them ease of use without changing back and forth on computer screens while working on distance lessons.
Our standard CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP4 states, Mathematically proficient students can apply the mathematics they know to solve problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace. this can not be accomplished unless students are provided a way to communicate online and in person. I would like to provide our classroom with a document camera. This will allow me to record lessons for my students and post them online so that they can hear my voice and see my face when they are at home instead of using random videos from the internet. I need to provide my students with dry erase markers because they use dry erase boards to take pictures and submit them to show their work when at home or in zoom meetings.
Along with all of the academic standards that we meet, there are social-emotional needs that we also meet. Our classroom is an inviting place to learn. I use bright paper, colorful markers, and laminating sheets because we do our class activities with these supplies. It helps keep our activities cheerful and lamination allows for sanitation so we can follow safety st
