These materials will help with students activity levels with engaging activities and help build our sensory room, teaching students self-regulation skills. Students will have access to a sensory room that is used to teach First-Then concepts, self-regulation and the difference in work and break times. The trifold magnetic board will be used to show "first-then" concepts related to the schedule to show "First work-Then sensory room". The Cozy Lounger, portable wedge seat, no roll balance ball, sensory star beanbags and washable tactile pillows will all be used in the sensory room to assist with "Break Time". The materials will also help us teach math and vocational skills in a fun and functional manner, which is also crucial to learning first-then concepts. This includes the magnetic color maze, geometry light up activity center, sensory shells, mix and match sensory spheres, nuts about sorting, squeeze scoop count ice cream shop, tactile letters, wikki stix alphabet center will be used to teach math and reading concepts in a fun, engaging way as well as pre-vocational skills. The kindness pack and book, "We're all wonders" will teach social skills and self-awareness, ultimately bringing the knowledge that everyone is important and valued. Students, like adults, need to learn and then use supports that help us have successful days. Understanding work versus play and having a healthy balance, that is fun and meaningful, is necessary for this. These materials will assist in this goal and create a classroom more supportive of our students needs.
