My project will ensure an amazing learning environment that will support my students' social-emotional and academic development by integrating art into the Literacy content area. Students will create art projects in order to make connections between literacy texts (ELA RL.4.7) and compare and contrast the treatment of similar themes in stories, myths, and traditional literature from different cultures. (ELA RL.4.9) Integrated Art Literacy supports students’ social, mental, and emotional well-being. It will help the impacts of interrupted learning as a result of COVID-19. Imaginative activities for young learners can lead to better skills in social interactions and emotional regulation. Lessons in the arts introduce my students to problem-solving techniques, which help them to see the world in new and exciting ways. This will foster the home/school connection as we share the projects with families and the community. The Circut Maker, aquarium, and TPT gift cards I'm requesting will help my students through more than a year of pandemic learning.
