Every student wants to make their needs and wants known to others. For my non-verbal students or for those who are primarily unintelligible it is important for them to be able to communicate to the best of their ability. To make this happen at school it takes reinforcers that are appropriate as well as interesting or entertaining for them to be successful. Many of my students are cognitively impaired which makes it difficult to maintain their interest. Hands-on materials are perfect for engaging in something that is meaningful to them. The same being said for the children on my caseload that are on the spectrum. Their behaviors often have a bearing on their ability to stay focused. This is my request so to serve 53 children to the best of my ability. By incorporating the materials I have requested I will be able to use for these items to attain their Speech Goals and Benchmarks on their IEPs. Asking and answering Wh- questions is very difficult for my kiddos as most of them have unintelligible speech. The materials I ordered will cover a multitude of disabilities at every stage of the speech disorder.
