Students will learn more if they have discovered the answers on their own. Technology can play a great role in teaching students problem-solving skills. It will be used as a tool that offers students opportunities to solve real-world problems and research real-world issues. Global awareness will be brought into our classroom by creating projects where students collaborate and gather information from other students around the world. Rigorous experiential learning will take place as students work in cooperative learning groups. The content will be presented in multiple ways utilizing multiple media. IPads will help us individualize instruction and reach students with many different learning styles. Students will be given choices regarding what they want to learn. Then they will use technology to conduct research. Finally, students will choose how to express their learning through the creation of animations, movies, PowerPoints, e-books, websites... The most effective learning takes place when the lessons are relevant to each student's life, student-centered, technology-based, and collaborative. Technology will give our students equal access to learning. They will begin to understand their own learning process as they set goals for themselves and make choices on what and how they want to learn and express themselves. Students will learn how to use that information to teach others on their path toward being lifelong learners. Puzzles will be used to support students as they work to improve cognition and visual-spatial reasoning. As students focus on putting the puzzle together, they are using their problem-solving skills and building their ability to concentrate.
