I have noticed, while my students struggle to remain actively engaged during foundational skills lessons, they all respond to the hands-on learning these games and materials will provide. Not only do the games teach them the basic skills required for reading text, the students also build their social skills as they learn and play together. As I teach three grade levels, the abilities of my students are varied greatly. I average a caseload of 10 students and have never had more than 20% reading on grade level. This crucial skill is best acquired through a variety of consistent techniques.
