  • Healthy Learners of the Future

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations! It's amazing how the most mundane items can make such a difference. Thanks to you, my students were able to stay healthy during the cold and flu season. We had enough Lysol wipes to use multiple times per week to help keep germs from spreading and they students were able to use soft tissues instead of rough toilet paper when they needed to. More uninterrupted learning could happen, and as a result, my students have been able to demonstrate their learning in so many ways. They are alway happy to come to school, so I am happy you could help make sure they could do so in a safe and healthy way.

    With much thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H

  • Creating a Calming Environment

    Funded Jan 8, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations! The students have loved their new rug and pillows. Not only have they loved having a comfortable place to sit and relax when they need some time away but they have also loved using the oversized pillows during silent reading! The students love to snuggle up in the pillows when things are just a bit too much for them, and many of them like being able to cover themselves with the large pillows. These items have helped create a space where they can decompress and sort through their emotions while feeling safe and comfortable to do so. Your donations were much appreciated!! My students and I cannot thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H

Helping to meet the students needs is a key support we strive for in the classroom. Pillows and a nice rug would be a great starting point! I would like to create a warm and inviting Calm Corner in my classroom where the students can go to regulate when they are having a difficult time managing their emotions. When students are experiencing high levels of emotion, they may struggle to learn new information or perform academic tasks. When they have somewhere to go and work through their emotions they are more likely to return to their tasks and activities and benefit from their time in school!
