  • True Color Center!

    Funded Mar 17, 2022

I would like to thank you for all your generous donations to my True Color Center project. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, this project had a great start this school year. With your support, I was able to receive a printer, color ink, black ink, and thermal laminating pouches. The students are enthusiastic to start their games, or tasks because the worksheets are in color.

These color worksheets have helped them to stay more focused and engage during our center activities. I noticed that my students are improving tremendously in letter recognitions and reading words after doing these worksheets and games in color. I can not express my gratitude enough to all those who donated to my project. Our students are the future, and those donors without knowing my students had helped them succeed in their educational goals. Donors Choose, please continue supporting our teachers because with your help many students are succeeding in school. All donors have made a great difference for my students and me. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pichardo

  • Phonics/Reading Games

    Funded Oct 3, 2021

I would like to thank you for all your generous donations to my Phonics/Reading Games project. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, this project had a great start this school year. With your support, I was able to receive the laminating machine, laminating sheets, dry erase markers, and the dry erase wipe boards. The students who are working on the reading or phonic games are eager to start in class.

Writing letters properly was very difficult for my students. They were not able to print the letter. After practicing the letter formation daily on the dry erase boards, they are able to write the letters now.

I noticed that my students improved tremendously in letter recognitions and reading words after doing the phonics letter recognition games. They are able to blend sound together and form words. Many of them are applying the reading strategies to read cvc words. While playing the alphabet or sight word bingo games, they also apply the reading strategies that I taught them during small group activities. These resources have helped my students improve their readiness skills. They are ready for their next grade thanks to all the kind donors. I can not express my gratitude enough to all those who donated to my project. Our students are the future, and those donors without knowing my students had helped them succeed in their educational goals.

My goals for the rest of the year are to continue developing phonics and reading games to ensure that my students improve their reading skills and become independent readers. Donors Choose, please continue supporting our teachers because with your help many students are succeeding in school. All donors have made a great difference for my students and me. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pichardo

Purchasing the right materials for my students will make all the difference in the world. On a daily basis, while at school and at home I will be able to provide my students with a set of laminated games and activities that they can play with relatives at home to reinforce strategies learned during small groups and class instruction. I am in need of a laminating machine for laminating sight word cards, Bingo Games (Sight Word Bingo, Letter Bingo, and phonics), and reading strategies so that students can reuse sturdy materials. Laminating sheets (5 boxes) would give me enough materials, where I can make sight words, and reading strategies for each student. A class set of Double sided Dry Erase Boards-Lined/Plain, which will allow my students to practice their handwriting. Four boxes of thin dry-erase markers, students will use the dry-erase markers to practice writing sight words, and word work (phonics) activities.
