• Wrestling Resource

  The dummy was a huge asset as some do not have partners due to limited partners to practice with. The resource is helping with throws and building our confidence. The student athletes were grateful and excited to throw the dummy. It definitely changed the culture of the team. We are so grateful and excited to see what the team can do in the years to come. This is one of our strongest years and hope to make history by getting into the playoffs. We are just one win away from locking our birth into the playoffs.”

• Wrestling Shoes for Wrestling Team!

  We would like to thank you for the generous donation. The shoes have helps us practice and are utilized in practice competition. Once students saw shoes they were relieved because they didn't have buy their own pair of wrestling shoes. We are currently are 2-1 in the season and are one win of making the playoffs. We currently do not have next steps but to keep using the resources for future generations and hoping to stabilize the team by adding new members to our team. We have over 20 student athletes on the team and hoping to get more for next season.”

• Graphic Novel for English Language Learners!

  We are so grateful for making our project into a reality. As soon as we got the books - the students were filled with joy. We started to read them when we met for our morning program and they could not put the book down. It is exciting to see their faces lit up when they can't stop reading and are willing to keep on going. I am excited on the future activities we can conclude as we keep on reading the book. We decided to use the books for ELLs and keep them organize in our office to potentially have them be read by the elementary students in our building.”

• A Resource Tool to Help with Competition

  I am so thankful for your generous donation. We are so grateful for this resource. The students are ecstatic that they got another dummy and are able to practice their throws. I have never seen them full of joy as they practice their throws and learn more advanced techniques. It is incredible to see the impact that a resource like this has on them. I think we have asked for a lot of help fund a middle school program. This is a tool that this team needed. For the future, I am currently working at a high school - coaching track and wrestling - and we are trying to fund those teams as well. So our next steps is to make the same impact at the high school level.”

• How to throw in a safer environment.

  Funded Oct 12, 2022

  They are using this tool to help them throw and are gaining their confidence each day they are learning. A moment that has been an eye opening is the willing to keep on practicing. I think it will improve their performance on the mat. We have our first tournament this weekend and I hope to see a better outlook on how they perform with throws.

  The students reacted in a positive matter that they all wanted to learn to throw. I never expected them to be so joyful, but I think it is because it is safe and they know they won't get hurt.

  The next step is get another practice partner for the older students since it was too small for them.”

• Essentials for Practice

  We are using the new resources by wearing them in practice and now everybody has wrestling shoes and are practicing much better. We are also using the mouth guards for protection in practice. My students reaction were priceless and they were overwhelmed when they had shoes of their own and not wrestling socks. The next steps for the project is to get a wrestling dummy, which I'm happy to say that was just fulfill a few hours ago. With both projects being fulfilled my team will use these resources to practice in a safer environment and become much successful in the sport and learn to acquire valuable skills.”

• Essentials for Competition

  Funded Sep 27, 2021

  We have been using these resources in practice and for competition. A moment that these resources became a valuable asset to the team was when students were complaining about knee pain and I handed them a knee pad. This helped the student with continue to practice and the knee pain subsided.

  Once they heard about the resources we got, they got excited to use them in practice. We use the hair bands throughout practice and competition when girls hair got untied in matches.

  I think our next step to build this team is getting more wrestling shoes. It was unfortunate to not provide wrestling shoes to everyone on the team. I think providing shoes to everyone on the team will assist them in practicing more efficiently. We are gladly to announce that because of these resources our team was able to win their first City Championship for the school and the program.”
