Flexible Seating
Funded Sep 5, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donations to purchase alternative seating for my classroom. The students are enjoying the seats and it is so helpful for fidgeting. We use them daily during small groups and the students can also sit at them throughout the day if needed.
When one of my administrators visited the class, she commented that she was so impressed that the students were attending so well to their work. She couldn't believe how well behaved they were and how the chairs made such a difference.”

Little Hearts, Big Feelings
Funded Mar 8, 2023Firstly, reading can help develop critical thinking skills, such as analyzing and interpreting text, identifying themes and motifs, and making connections between different elements of the story. Reading also provides an opportunity to expand vocabulary, improve writing skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the world and its many perspectives.
In terms of what reading looks like in a classroom, it can vary depending on the grade level and subject area. However, teachers often use a combination of guided reading, independent reading, and shared reading to help students develop their literacy skills. Guided reading involves small group instruction, where teachers work with students on their reading comprehension and decoding skills. Independent reading allows students to choose books that interest them and read at their own pace, while shared reading involves reading aloud as a group and discussing the text.
When it comes to particular students who may enjoy new books, it can depend on their personal interests and reading levels. However, some students may find enjoyment in books that allow them to see themselves reflected in the story, such as books that feature characters with similar backgrounds, experiences, or identities. Others may enjoy books that challenge their thinking or offer new perspectives on the world. It's important to offer a diverse range of books that cater to a variety of interests and reading levels to ensure that all students have the opportunity to develop their literacy skills and find enjoyment in reading. Thank you for allowing my studetns to continue their love of reading.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and 19 other donors.Flexible Seating
Funded Nov 16, 2021My students absolutely loved the flexible seating that was purchased for our classroom. The students are able to sit anywhere in the classroom to complete work. I have noticed the students to be more engaged while learning. When the items first were delivered the students were a little overwhelmed because in a traditional class flexible siting is not offered. They have grown as students and have also learned self control with these items.
We also received some shelves for organizing the items we use weekly. This has helped the students to be more responsible for their learning while in the classroom.
Thank you so much from us all for choosing to sponsor our project.”
