I am a teacher of a self contained classroom in North Carolina. When are in a K-5 Public Elementary School, there are five self contained classes in our school. I have a wide range of students in my classroom, some are intellectual disabled, autistic, and some have multiple disabilities. My students need multiple instructional methods and repetitive teaching strategies to acquire and maintain skills. My students are not on grade level and are non readers, they need assistance with reading. They learn best through "hands on learning" opportunities.
