These materials will create a safe and supportive learning environment within the social work office. Students are returning to school after a year and a half of a global pandemic, some for the first since March 2020. The social work office serves as a safe haven for students to decompress, process feelings, and take a break. The social emotional games will help students learn how to process and talk about their feeling and emotions. I will use these games to help students gain effective coping strategies for difficult situations. The feelings posters, plants, and oil diffuser make the office look and feel like a space for comfort, where students can feel safe. The goal is for this office to be a safe haven to support emotional growth, which students will appreciate. As a first time social worker in this building, these materials will ensure that my office is seen as welcoming and resourceful, a place students know they can go when in need of support.My office is currently empty outside of my computer, desk, and printer and it's time to make this space feel like a place students will feel comfortable with the materials I need to be successful. They will now have games, pens, notebooks, and other items to journal their feelings. By purchasing these items, you will be supporting the emotional, social and academic development of our students.
