  • Cup Speed Stacking for Physical and Mental Enhancement!

    Thank you so much for our Speed Stacking Cups. Our students at P.S. 121 have really enjoyed learning about speed stacking! Cup stacking is an excellent physical and mental activity for any age level! With over 70 fitness-based activities, cup stacking helps to motivate kids to be active and fit. Cup stacking is a sport that can be done anywhere! Cup stacking is an activity that gives students not only the opportunity to have fun and compete but also allows students to improve their coordination and fitness. Cup stacking is a fitness-based sport that kids from all backgrounds and abilities can do. These cups have helped our students learn the benefits of cup stacking with a hands-on experience.

    We are very lucky to use these cups during our 5th grade clubs session every Friday. When the students first saw the cups as part of our Physical Education Program they were confused. Once we showed them some videos and they had hands on practice with the cups they have become so excited to keep trying and learning. This unit is a great way for us to teach the kids that Physical Education doesn't always have to mean running around and playing a specific sport. This physical activity of speed stacking helps students mentally. The students have really enjoyed learning this new skill and have even purchased a set of cups so that they can practice at home!

    The cups are a great addition to our Physical Education Program. When the gymnasium is closed for any reason the Cups are a great tool to use inside the classroom! The students love to follow along with the speed stacking videos that are provided online. They enjoy timing themselves to see if they can beat their previous times. They have a great time creating a friendly competition with each other as well. Maybe one day we can have the students perform for the rest of the school and create a competition on the stage for the younger students to see. Thank you again for donating.   • FitnessGram Fitness!

    Thank you so much for allowing my students to be able to use an accurate Sit and Reach item for their Fitnessgram assessments. In the past the Physical Education teachers had to create one with the materials that they had around the school building. This new product allows us teachers to accurately measure the students sit and reach measurements using the scale provided. When we first received the item it was very easy to put together and the students were excited to use it.

    We were able to assess all of the 4th and 5th grade students with ease. The product is very easy to use and the students loved it. We assessed each student as part of their station work and we were able to quickly and efficiently measure each students in all of the classes.

  • Exercise with Cardio Drumming!

    Thank you so much for all of your donations! Our students were so excited when we set up the cardio drumming equipment for them to use! Their faces lit up with joy! We explained to them that we completed this Donor's choose so that they would have access to these materials and they were very thankful for all that you have done. In the next few weeks the students will be learning how to use this cardio drumming equipment. Cardio drumming is a low impact workout that people of all ages and fitness levels can do. They are eager to learn how drumming can also be a form of exercise. It combines an aerobic workout with drumming movements, giving numerous health benefits. Within this unit students will learn the benefits of cardio drumming such as strengthening their immune system, reducing stress and anxiety and increasing their strength and endurance. Cardio drumming will also help improve their motor skills and hand eye coordination. Our students can't wait to start drumming to the next beat!”
