I'm asking for 8 sets of the Timeline Events Card Game and 8 sets of wooden Jenga blocks. My students will be using these games to review historical content and to learn new content. The Timeline Game will allow students to interact with peers in groups of three to four by placing event cards in the correct order. They will see dates and pictures. They will review historical events they know and learn about new events. My own kids at home love this game and I know my history students will as well. My students enjoy hands-on activities, competition and learning with their peers. The Timeline Game will also help them better conceptualize when and where events occur across time. It will serve as a review of world history content as well and tie world and United States history together. The Jenga Game allows students to have fun and engage with peers in small groups by reviewing historical content as they build a tower of blocks. The awesome thing about the Jenga format is that it can be used for any topic/unit by changing the set of questions. Students answer a review question that corresponds with the number on their chosen block and then get to place the Jenga block at the top level of the tower. The goal is to collaborate and build a tall tower of blocks. Small groups will likely get competitive by trying to build the tallest tower. This will serve as a fun review for students and will be a welcome change from digital review games.
