I would like to do a project where my students go outside and calculate the height of different objects around the school. The measuring tapes will help them measure the distance they are from the base of the object. I really want my students to see how they can apply the concepts we have been studying in class to the real world. Using the measuring types my students will be able to get out of the classroom and experiment how surveyors find the heights of different objects. They will be able to see different ways math can be applied outside of the classroom.
