  • Paint With ALL The Colors of the Rainbow

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

My students are always asking to paint. On day one they walk in asking when they will have the opportunity to do so. As an art teacher, it is my job to allow my students to immerse themselves in a variety of art media and your donation has helped me do that.

Before the donation we were using fairly dated paint. Once paint is past its expiration the quality is significantly affected. The colors do not paint as bright and mixing does not go so well. When I showed my students the gallons of new paint they could not believe their eyes! Not only were we able to restock our colors but we got to add so many other colors that we did not have before.

My students will continue to use the paint and the brushes to create beautiful masterpieces with vibrant colors. Their artwork lines the halls, showing off how truly amazing artwork can be with good quality materials. We could not be more grateful for this donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Domack

  • Art On The Carpet!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thank you SO much for your donation and enabling us to get a carpet for our art room. Since having the carpet we have had the chance to share so many stories with each other. At the beginning of every class we all meet on the carpet and we have a chance to share out anything we are excited, happy, or nervous about in our lives. My students have been absolutely loving the opportunity to talk about important things in their lives and we have all found that it has strengthened the climate in our classroom.

When my students walked into the classroom and saw the carpet they could not wait to begin our new storytime routine. On top of strengthening our relationships with each other, my students now have a place to read art literature during class as well. We are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Domack

  • Literacy Connections in Art

    Funded Dec 20, 2021

When I told my students the news of your donation their faces lit up with joy! They cannot wait to begin diving into the literature and seeing what these books have to offer. The addition of these books to my classroom is going to help me create engaging and enriching art lessons for my students. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Domack

  • Creating a Culturally Responsive Art Room

    Funded Dec 15, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your donation to my classroom! My students are SO excited to begin looking at artwork around the world with accurate colors and refined details. With the addition of a color printer, our next unit on abstract art is going to be a hit! We are beyond grateful for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Domack

I love connecting concepts from other content areas to my art lessons. I feel that it is important to make real life connections and include a variety of subjects to keep my students engaged. Having a carpet will allow the students and myself to sit together for a daily check-in with each other. It is so important to me that I have a sense of community in the art room and having a space we can all go every class will give me that opportunity. My students love to read and to use literacy connections in their artwork. Having a carpet will be a perfect place for my students to come together and read a story as a class. My students are noticeably more engaged when I have a place for them to start art calmly. At the rug I will be able to create routines such as breathing exercises and strategies for dealing with stress that my students can use during art time. I want to give all of my students the opportunity to experience a community where they feel safe and prepared for any challenges they may face!
