In adapted PE, we teach students various skills so they can be active and discover lifelong physical activities to enjoy at school, and at home. A lot of families ask how they can get their students with special needs to go on family bike rides or how they can learn to ride with their neighborhood friends. I'd love the opportunity to teach our students with special needs how to ride a bike at school, so that they can take the skills learned and transfer them at home. Riding bikes is a lifelong physical activity that builds fitness, fills sensory needs, and brings joy.
