Chargers Bring Power!
Funded Dec 15, 2021I sincere thank you for your kind and thoughtful donation towards the much needed Chromebook chargers for the 5th grade classroom. They were instantly put to use in our recently funded charging station!
The students are required to bring home their computers every night to do their homework and of course, charge them. Every single day there are a variety of students that arrive at school with a computer with almost no battery. Already their day is impacted and off to a rough start. Without the chargers, they would not be able to access their work on their computers.
Now, we have a lovely spot with numerous chargers so that computers can be charged at any time. The chargers became even more critically important as the year went on because many of the students' chargers at home ceased to work or became very unreliable. The students had the piece of mind to still be able to be successful thanks to your generous gift of chargers!”

Chromebook Charging Station!
Funded Sep 23, 2021My class has benefited greatly from having our very own Charging Station in the fifth grade classroom. The children are required to take their Chromebooks home and charge them every night. For a multitude of reasons, this does not happen every night, for every child. The Charging Station has taken one worry out of their day of learning. The class knows if their computer is not charged or is low on battery they can still learn and complete assignments. I want my students to learn to be responsible and have successful routines that will lead them to success. But the reality is, there are so many unknown barriers for my students when they leave the school building. Being able to access assignments and lessons without constantly checking their battery life, just makes success more attainable.
The students were thrilled when the station arrived and helped unbox it. They quickly realized if their battery was slightly low mid day, they could leave their Chromebook charging during Lunch and Recess. Upon their return, they know they will have enough battery life to get through the end of the day. Also, in the morning, especially after a weekend or break, multiple students will open their computers and suddenly realize they didn't charge. They are then able to charge their computers while we do our morning writing in their notebooks. Then they are ready to go when we get to work on the first digital assignment of the day!
The upcoming weeks and months are going to be rough in schools. I really appreciate you choosing to help teachers and students in Lowell. We are so grateful for your kindness and thoughtfulness!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Brugel
