This project will allow students to participate in everyday class instruction. Majority of the students in my classroom can't afford school supplies, and having the necessary materials needed will be an asset to our everyday learning environment. Right now we are reaching out to our community for support, and we have not received a favorable response to meet our students needs. By having materials such as pencils, Expo markers, loose leaf paper, and chapter books in the classroom will shrink the gap between the haves and the have nots. Students will be able to engage in everyday activities by using pencils and expo markets with their white boards practicing phonics and phonological awareness. The chapter books will be an asset to the classroom due to a various amount of students struggling with reading. It is know that if students' aren't reading by the end of third grade then he/she will struggle with reading, and that's something we as educators are trying to prevent. It is my hope that we will receive a favorable response for funding, so we can support the needs of our students.
