  • Preschool for All Learners Art Center

    I would like to extend my gratitude and thank you for all of the wonderful materials that you have provided for my young learners. Your donations have already brought so much joy, happiness and creative energy to my class and to my students daily life.

    Students use the new resources to create different pieces of art using new and exciting mediums that most of them have never seen or used before. We make collages, paint projects, 3-d projects and anything else that their minds can come up with!

    Materials were slowly introduced to my students, and each time they experienced something new, their eyes lit up and they could barely contain themselves. My students have special needs and many are not verbal, however the smiles on their faces were apparent and they would jump and laugh and clap when presented with a new experience.

    Next steps for my students is to create more intricate and detailed works of art as well as forging language to help students describe their process.”

Aside from being a fun and expressive activity, art can help learners enhance their fine motor skills, use and learn language, provide a sensory experience and help children learn how to pre plan. Students who have a safe space where exploration is encouraged gain self confidence, experience and opportunities to interact with their peers. They additionally feel a sense of belonging and community when their hard work is displayed in the classroom to share with their peers and class visitors.

About my class
