• Bringing Math and Science To Little Learners

  The math manipulatives such as the bear counters have been a great addition to my classroom. The math games and additional manipulatives make learning math extremely fun and engaging. We have not got to our time unit but they are very excited to use the clocks. I know it will help optimize their learning.

  The Science readers have been an amazing addition in my classroom. We are about the start our Butterfly science unit and the books will be out on display so my students can use as a resource. They love learning about different animal life cycles during their free reading time.”

• The Perfectly Soothing Calming Corner for Little Minds

  Funded May 14, 2022

  The social and emotional health of students is very important. How they feel is key to their learning. My little scholars are in 1st grade and school is still very new to them. I am using my resources to create a soothing corner for all my students to use.

  My students can use it to wind down when they are angry. It can also be used to calm down when feeling a little sad. They have awesome resources to help them. A rainbow sensory fidget is a great tool some of my students use when they are feeling a little sad.

  My students were so excited about all the new things being added to our "clam down corner". They are able to better express themselves using the bulletin board. They were also happy to use the 'Liquid Motion Bubbler for Kids'.

  I am teaching my students all about emotions. They are learning that there are many feelings out there and it is okay to feel them. We are learning strategies on how safely express our emotions. The bulletin board and Mindfulness Breathing Exercises Poster are great to use with our lessons. Our 'Learn About Feelings Set' is also a great resource to use during our SEL lessons.”

• Diverse Seating for Diverse Learners

  Funded May 7, 2022

  The new resources are being used to implement flexible seating for all my scholars. They are especially helpful at keeping students engaged during the lesson while they have the wiggles. The bouncing balls are used to keep students moving while learning. They are key to our small groups. We use our stools at our desks or back tables during independent work time. Students love the chance to sit somewhere different than their regular chairs. They stay focused during their independent time. The lap desk is the best addition yet. We also use them for a different seating option during independent work time. Some of my scholars that sit in the back get to use a lap desk during whole class lessons. They are able to sit on our rug at the front of the class room and have a portable desk to continue working.

  When my students saw all the different seating options they were beyond excited. They couldn't wait to learn to use the new seating options. They are ecstatic that we have such "cool" seating options. My students are learning about accessibility and how the needs of people look different. The flexible seating is one thing that looks different for everyone in our class. Some of our classmates need to sit on a stool or bouncy balls while others don't. It is a great real-life connection they can make to their lesson.”

• Wobbly Kids Need Wobbly Chairs!

  I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The addition of flexible seating is such a great resource, especially for little learners. This year my students have extra wiggles. The wobble chairs are just perfect. I use the soft seating for rug time or reading time.

  \The wobble chairs make it easier for my wobbly learners to stay focused and engaged throughout the lesson. My students look forward to learning when they are sitting in the wobble chairs. They look forward to their turn to sit and learn.

  The soft chairs are such a perfect addition. I use them as flexible seating, during circle time, and for reading in the classroom library. My students especially love to sit with them during their reading. They stay fully focused during their library time.

  I have taught my classroom how to be safe and keep our materials clean.”
