A block area would allow our students to learn to work collaboratively. This is good for their problem solving skills both for the actual building aspect but also for working together with their peers. They will learn things like taking turns and increasing their attention span. They learn many different skills with a block area including math concepts, engineering, team work, and problem solving. They can work on both gross and fine motor skills with the area as we add more materials throughout the year. They will learn concepts such as balancing, shapes, and engineering.
