Learning to read and write are important skills in second grade. Many of my children are coming off of a year or more of virtual learning. It is evident in their reading skills that there are some gaps that need to be filled. Teaching children to be life long readers starts with the ability to read. When reading is a struggle and not fun, children do not want to read. These games and activities will be used to make Language Arts more exciting. Being able to sit with a word building set, or a stackable work kit makes children have more fun with the task at hand.
