  • Calming Area

    Funded Jan 18, 2023

My students have loved their calming corner, all the materials and resources provided has helped them learn about their feelings and how to self-regulate when needed. They have learned how to use the breathing techniques and have started to use these strategies outside the calming area.

My students were so excited when they received all the amazing resources, they could not believe that they were provided such 'beautiful' things and an amazing couch that they love to sit in. They loved the egg chairs and love to move their bodies around and around until they can't stop laughing.

Our next steps are to continue our social emotional development growth by learning to communicate our needs and feelings to be able to receive support. This communication will help them beyond our classroom space and will hopefully help them show love and gratitude.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Robledo

  • Dual Language Classroom: Books and Crayons!

    Funded Feb 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your wonderful donations. My students were so excited when they discovered all the wonderful additions to our classroom. Our library corner has never been more lively, it has become a really popular center. We have read so many new stories and the students love to look through the books afterward. After we received our books we made thank you bookmarks (picture #3), the students were screaming "THANK YOU!!" when I was taking the picture.

With the multicultural crayons I was able to give a lesson about reasons we love ourselves. How we all have differently wonderful features that define our faces that make all of us beautiful. The students shared what they loved about themselves and drew themselves from picture references. Thank you once again for everything. I hope you enjoy and love the pictures as much as we loved creating them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Robledo

This classroom project was brought to life by Black History Month Partners and 10 other donors.
Books will be showcased to encourage students to read and learn. My goal is that my students see themselves on every page in our classroom. I want all my students to start reading and to love it, and it all starts by picking up that first book. I want each student to feel inspired after they finish reading our new books in our classroom library. To pick up their crayons and express their own stories to the world. I want them to dream and know that all things are possible.
