Ms. P's Speech Room!
Funded Oct 30, 2023My students are thrilled with all the new classroom speech therapy materials they have received as a result of your generosity. My students request to play the lakeshore "games" and are learning so many new skills while having fun. My students love working hard in their sessions because they know they will earn one the super cool new stickers we recently received, or earn their way to the prize box with the new prizes from super duper!
This project has also provided me with so many useful materials to make my life as a teacher more organized and therefore easier. The rolling cart has allowed me to organize many different craft supplies to use for adaptive stories, crafts with my preschoolers, or holiday activities. It's truly a blessing to be able to service my students who need extra support in speech therapy and I couldn't do it without you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Prince

Funded Sep 29, 2022I cannot express my gratitude enough for your kind donations to my P.S. 61 speech classroom. Between the prizes, games, magazines and everything else my students now can't wait to be pulled from class and brought to speech therapy throughout the week. When I walk into a classroom all the students beg me to take them too because coming to speech has become so much fun. The fact that learning can now be accomplished through board games and fun folders makes all the difference. At the end of the sessions students are rewarded with the stickers and prizes which serve as fantastic motivation to try their best each and every day.
Our most used material is the touch and read phonics CVC words. This allows students to tap out sounds and blend sounds together to create words. They can check their work by finding a corresponding picture. The goal is for the students to then work on the touch and read sentence CVC words, where students tap out sounds to read multiple words in a sentence. Our favorite game is the Kooky Carnival Context game, where students learn new vocabulary and earn tickets. These and 6 other games all came from Lakeshore Learning, and we can't wait to use them all!”

Ms. Prince

Funded Dec 17, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in funding my classroom project. I have received the amazon fire, TPT gift cards, and Scholastic book box over the last 2 months, and I couldn't be more excited. These items have helped make my lessons engaging, and fun for my students, and less stressful for me.
The amazon fire allows me to share digital books, learning apps, such as Boom Learning, and educational videos with my students throughout my speech sessions. The students are excited about using a tablet and it has been especially helpful for my younger students who are easily distracted or are asking for games during our speech session. My favorite app is Boom Learning where the students select, drag, or write in answers on the device and hear an auditory response indicating correct or incorrect for their answers. They find this far more engaging than worksheets.
There are times where my lessons do require worksheets, or printable's and I now have access using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards. I am able to help support other teachers by purchasing their products without hurting my wallet. I have easy access to a variety of materials for whatever lessons we are working on with the click of a button.
The Scholastic Book Box has been the start of my own book collection. After starting in an elementary school during the pandemic, I wasn't using any materials that weren't on the computer because class was all virtual. Now that my students are in person, it is more helpful for them to be able to hold the books and engage with the texts in a real way.
Thank you again for your generosity on behalf of myself and my students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Prince
