I'm requesting this colorful carpet to make my new classroom more welcoming and comfortable for my class. I am a new teacher and work with many children that have parents in the military. This addition to our room will make it feel a bit more like home. I feel that is so important for any classroom, especially for military children. They transition so much. Some transfer before the school year is over and some come in during the middle of the year. I want them to feel at home in our room immediately. This will bring so much more color and comfort to our environment. It will also offer a place where my students can learn proper proximity skill and appropriate social skills. They will also be able to use this as a clean and soft place to use manipulatives for deeper learning.
