Funded Sep 19, 2021I can honestly say the March Book One Unit was one that students will remember for some years to come. Congressman Lewis's bravery...the love and respect that he had for human beings ) his determination...his grit spawned enlightening classroom conversations among my students. These conversations led to a better understanding of the history of Civil Rights in the United States and how it impacts us today.
The March opened doors of communication that allowed students to express their concerns and frustrations to their peers. It was also a delight to see students, who normally dislike reading, the opportunity to enjoy the graphic novel format. of the most impactful allowing us to create a solid foundation for the longer novel we are reading about civil rights and the African American community.
I am so very grateful for the support that was shown to my students and our class. Thanks to all of our donors and Donors Choose for the opportunity to make a lasting impression on our students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Elizabeth Lagunas
