Motivating Learning Through Play
Funded Oct 23, 2023Thank you for allowing me to add extra materials to help engage my third grade students in playful learning. My students loved engineering structures and bridges having a variety of materials and fasteners.
I had hoped to teach the value of money through the Pay Day game. Unfortunately, it was not available for some reason. So, I switched to an interactive Subtraction Soccer game. My students learned the value of reading nonfiction directions to learn how to play. They took turns taking it home for "Homefun" instead of Homework.
My now more creative group enjoyed adding stickers of trees to their summaries after reading Little House in the Big Woods.
I appreciate your support on helping me keeping education relevant and fun. My students are more inspired to learn with simple additions encouraging creativity, expression, and play!
You are appreciated!!”

Tools to Express Creatively
Funded Aug 12, 2021Teaching during this pandemic has had many challenges. One of the greatest for me is to see the anxiety and stress in my students. Last year, I saw my virtual students love that I sent home art supplies for them to be able to be creative at home. Knowing so many would not be traveling far this summer, I decided to gift them with those supplies. They were very happy.
So, I knew I needed to replace some of our basic school art supplies as I teach Art History from Cavemen painting with sticks to Modern Art collages. This year, adjusting back to the classroom has proven difficult for some as they had lots of attention and one-on-one help at home. Year time, I tell them we are going to have an art break. My class literally erupts into cheers! Finding new ways to express themselves and improving their art skills has been very fun and I think even relaxing for them. They enjoyed water-coloring fall leaves after practicing their spelling as the border and studying about why leaves change color in science.
Thank you again for making this possible by replacing our supplies!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Bill Gates and 4 other donors.Classroom HEPA Air filter
Funded Oct 12, 2020Thank you again for making it possible for my class to get a Hepa Filter. It has been very helpful in reassuring parents, students, and myself that we are doing ALL we can to try to keep our class free of the Coronavirus. So, far, I have not had any students get sick with it yet. Many parents that had kept their home to learn virtual last year. were very skeptical about being on campus again. I had taught virtual and had many of the same concerns. They were reassured when I shared my plan for extra hand and desk washing, added the Hepa Filter you donated, and had hand sanitizer available for when each student enters the room.
I typically have a lot of allergies and teach with sinus headaches. I am happy to report I have not had one so far this year. Other teachers had shared Hepa filters in their classrooms helped with their allergies. I'm grateful this is helping in my classroom too.
Thank you for supporting this project and Donor's Choose!”
