  • Social Emotional Support Resources

    Funded Sep 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students have truly enjoyed using the board games as a way to relax and have fun. For example, we often play after big tests as a way to unwind. The games have also been a great tool for encouraging conversations between students from different backgrounds. To help develop social skills, my students work with different classmates each week.

When my students first saw the new games, some were hesitant since it was their first time playing them. However, they quickly picked up the rules and began to enjoy the games.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lebron

  • Calculators To Avoid Algebra Mistakes

    Funded Dec 25, 2021

The calculators have been tremendous help to the students in my class. Prior to having calculators in my class, students had to wait to share the few calculators we had in class. This waiting prevented students from completing the assignments on time in class. Now, each students have their own calculator, and we are getting more work completed.

In addition, students have been discovering different aspects of the calculator and the proper way to input arithmetic expressions, especially when dealing with negative numbers. For example, -8 - -3, negative eight minus negative 3.

Many of students have been appreciative of having calculators in class. They no longer have to worry about mentally calculating the arithmetic part of the Algebra. They are seeing more positive results on their quizes and tests.

Thank you again for your donations on behalf of all my students. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lebron

Calculators will help with the my 9th graders with their arithmetic and will give me time to teach Algebra, which will build strong foundation for the other Math classes that they will take in coming years. Over the years while teaching Algebra for 9th graders, I have come across having to teach them Arithmetic, which takes away time needed for Algebra 1. Students get discouraged and often give up if they cannot correctly determine the calculation, and therefore learning Algebra gets lost in the process. The calculators will be used and kept in class.
