A large percentage of my students happen to be ELL students who could use extra help with having their learning needs met. Some have cell phones to be able to use Google translate, but many do not. I would like to have an iPad to better assist ELL students. They can also use this to help with summative assessments. Due to the amount of reading required in my class, I do a lot of recreating assignments for those who speak English as a second language. Having an iPad would allow those without their own devices to participate with confidence. I am excited to see what they can create with all of the proper tools in place.
