I believe the key to learning and exploring curiosities is reading. I endeavor to make my classroom library as diverse--in terms of both the types of books available, but also the representation within them--and inviting--clean and comfy furniture, colorful and bold pictures and displays, aesthetically pleasing pillows, carpets, and stuffed animals. Teaching young children the joys of reading, of reading for pleasure, of reading for a purpose, of reading for knowledge, is among my number one priorities. With this book display and carpet, I can add to the displays and furniture I have, to showcase our classroom library, and help my children see that reading is a comforting, warm, and enriching activity.
