Technology helps us all and it is especially helping young readers develop their reading skills. Our school uses an online reading program to help our students develop their phonemic awareness, fluency and comprehension skills. It is important for children to read every day and by donating to our project, this will become a reality for my students. This program is used in our classroom daily. One key part of this program is listening to the audio, but our classroom is lacking the necessary headphones to do so. If each student has their own pair of headphones, they would be able to focus on the program and develop the necessary reading skills to reach the reading level needed for 1st grade and beyond.
