  • Tune Out The Noise, So We Can Focus

    Thank you all for your donations and for showing our students that there are people out here who cares about student growth and educations.   • Building Socially and Emotionally Strong Children Through Play

    Your donations have been blessing to our students and the counseling program. The games that were obtained in this project are being used to help build up students socially.

    My students view the games from the project as regular games and enjoys playing them in our small groups. I have three students, in different grade levels, who always request to play different games from this project. The two most requested games are, "The Game Plan Game" and "Happy or Not Happy."

    The games from this project will continue to be used support building up students social and emotional skills that will help them be able to coop with everyday life through school and into adulthood.”

  • Keep Children Wanting to Be in School!

    Because of your generosity, I have been able to first provide many students, who either arrived late to school or who were extra hungry on Mondays, with heathy snacks that could help suppress their hunger until lunch. I was able to provide some of my displaced students with needed essentials for them and their families. Such as, soap, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes. As the weather turned colder, I have been able to provide at least 15 students with winter hats and/or gloves.

    The best reactions I have gotten has come from students who needed everyday essential like soap and deodorant. The essentials provided from this project are on a shelf and covered by a curtain in my office. When those essentials are unveiled to students about to receive them, they have this happy and surprised look on their faces.

    I hope reading this gives you all the same joy I receive when I see the looks of joy, relief, and appreciation on students faces when they receive these much needed essentials.”

  • Send Children Home With Cold Foods for the Weekend!

    Funded Nov 19, 2021

    Just having the refrigerator in my office for a week has allowed me to send children home with plenty of fresh fruits, milk, juices, and yogurt. All of those things are added to the food I received and give to them from the local food bank's "Backpack Program."

    I currently have 16 students in my Backpack Program and more than half of them were most excited to take fresh fruit and milk home with them.

    One of the cafeteria workers told me that me having the refrigerator and taking the food in the share bin has saved the school from waiting a lot of food as well.

The materials for my project will make a difference in student's learning by keeping them focused on learning and less on what they don't have. By supply students with hygiene products they don't have at home, they won't have to sit in class wondering if their classmates can smell their breath or body odor because they didn't have the necessary supplies to take care of those things at home. Students need to be able to come to school and not think of not eating that morning or how they smell. The breakfast bars and crackers are for them to snack on if they came to school late of are extra hungry be the may not have eaten the night before and breakfast was their first meal since lunch the day before, or just because they came to school late. The hats and gloves are for those students whose parents may not be able to afford to get those things for them. They also be for students who lost the ones they had and just need some replacements. Everything that I am asking for will help students be able to focus on learning and completing assignments in school and at home.
