  • Letters Everywhere!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

My students have been playing with the puzzles you purchased for us for months! They have learned about the alphabet and beginning sounds of words and all this through play. Even children who are non-verbal have used the puzzles to learn about letters and were able to use their matching abilities to associate initial letters to words in the puzzle. We greatly enjoyed the pre-writing stones, which the children used to learn how to make lines and curves, an essential prerequisite to handwriting. Lastly, we used the liquid watercolors to create artwork and represent the children's thoughts in various way so to give all students the ability to share their learning in the way most effective for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Elisa

  • Sensory materials and Differential Seating for ?y 3-k Class.

    Funded Nov 5, 2021

The students in my class have greatly benefitted from the materials. They have been using the seat daily to join their peers during circle time and to calm their body whenever needed. They have experimented with kinetic sand by molding it with their hands and using letter and number molds. When they first saw the colored tape, they were absolutely thrilled. They were able to use it to add pops of color to their artwork while practicing their fine motor skills as their ripped and glued the tape.

We are looking forward to continue to use these materials throughout the school year. Thank you so much for your contribution to our education!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Elisa

These materials will help children with developmental difficulties succeed and become agents of their own learning through creativity and ingenuity. The students will use the seats to receive the necessary physical support and sensory feedback in order to stay seated during circle time. The sensory letters will entice students who are sensory seeking and will help them develop letter recognition. The tape dispenser will be used in the art studio so that each child can autonomously create artwork to represent their learning and their understanding of the world around them.
