Our school is located in a rural community, in which many students' families are migrant workers at the nearby farms. Even though our school is considered a high poverty school, the students come to school each day eager to learn. Most of my students' families value education and have high expectations for their children, but do not have the financial means to provide extra reading materials at home. The students are given the opportunity to check books out from our classroom library. Reading these books at home and sharing them with their families is very beneficial to my English Language Learners and my special needs students.
