  • ELA Snack Attack!

    I am so thankful for the snacks that were donated for my project, ELA Snack Attack. In my classroom we have Wednesday snack days before writing assignments that we focus on Wednesdays. The students who truly need the snacks are able to have access to them any time, as well as class wide, one day a week. I also have made the cabinets available to other teachers who may need to offer those snacks to students that may be in need. I am thankful that you have helped in recognizing the things that potentially cause problems to children learning at their very best. One of those things is definitely being hungry, and you have helped me fight that in my classroom.”

  • Bring Back the Smiles

    I am so thankful to those of you who gave to my Bring Back the Smiles project. My students have loved getting to play games associated with our learning. They especially love the game, Wordical. We have had weekly competitions and it has helped with their vocabulary skills as well as their dictionary skills because they are looking up which words will score them the most points. They also love having the opportunity to play educational games when they are finished with their work in class. This is better for them than wasting time or being on their devices. Thank you for taking time to give and helping out my classroom of students.”

  • More Excitement, Less Worry.

    I was able to give multiple students binders and dividers that couldn't afford them on their own. I loved seeing the look on their faces when they knew it was one less thing they would have to worry about. They were able to take pride it something being theirs and looking just like everyone else's binders when usually they don't have anything or what they have isn't close to any other students.

    Often living in a town like Tuttle we think that there are not students who are considered low income, but due to recent economy circumstances, we have so many that are struggling. A project like this helps fill a very easy need and make students feel apart of the classroom. I truly appreciate all your donations and making an impact on my students!”

  • Golf Strong, Go Long!

    We are fixing to kick off our golf season in two weeks and are so thankful to have the items that you, so graciously, gave for us to have. It will be nice to not have to worry about having what we need to be successful. I know that I am very blessed to have such awesome people who always give to make sure we have what we need.

    My athletes are excited to get to use all of the new equipment, as well as getting to have equipment to protect them from the "elements." We have always had to have donated, random rain gear and we never looked like a team because we all looked different and pieced together.

    There are no words that will be able to adequately express how thankful I am for each of you who have given and will continue to give to make sure we have the most successful season. I will do everything I can to make sure my athletes know how absolutely lucky they are.”

The materials that can be purchased, through Donors Choose, will help some of my students not worry about having what they need to be successful in my classroom. With my teaching/coaching salary I am only able to buy so much each year. With these supplies, I will be able to ensure that each student has what they need in my class. I will be able to help reignite their learning by eliminating the thought of being the only kid in class who can't afford supplies. Believe it or not, there are so many students who can't think about class because they are thinking about how they can help make ends meet at home. In my classroom every student makes a journal that we write in every week. We make these journals out of binders and colorful paper. The last few years I have had an increase of students who can't afford these materials. I have had to find random binders laying around that don't "look" like their peers binders do. We all know that to junior high kids, this is life shattering to them, when they don't feel like they have what their peers have. By providing the smallest of supplies, my students can be excited about class, instead of worried about not having what they need.
