Funded Sep 14, 2021I am writing this letter to thank everyone who donated. Your generous donations helped expand my classroom library and the imagination of my students. My students and I are very grateful.
My students have been able to improve their reading comprehension skills by reading various books. Reading has helped my students with fluency. They also improved and expanded their vocabulary. When they read they are able to ask questions about the story in order to comprehend it better. They also enjoy retelling stories to their classmates and writing summaries about the stories.
My students enjoy reading independently and with a friend. When they read independently, they select books of their interest. They pick a book by a theme, series or genre they enjoy reading. When they read with a friend, they pick a book they both like and take turns reading and discussing the story. Students are able to take turns reading, provide feedback and monitor their comprehension. Students in my classroom love to read.
The students are enjoying reading the new books in the classroom. Their curiosity to read mystery, series and chapter books has led to appreciate reading. They like to share with their friends what they read. Also, their imagination and understanding of the world expands. It helps them develop language and listening skills. Reading has become fun and important for my students.
