I am a special education teacher, that is starting in a classroom with minimal flexible seating and limited book display options. These materials will help my students be more successful within the classroom. It will allow them to take charge of their own learning in the classroom. I allow my students to move freely about the room and choose where they complete their work. The different flexible seating on my list will allow my students to do this with ease. Having a book display shelf will allow students to pick "just right" books. My students are calmer when their sensory needs are fulfilled. The majority of my students are on the spectrum and are non-verbal. If we were to to receive these items, they will be more successful with their learning. We don't teach to the "norm", we teach to our students abilities. These items will allow that to happen.
