  • Say Cheese! Let’s Paint Picture Frames!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

My students had the best time today painting picture frames. We don't have much time to be creative in 5th grade so when it happens the kids love it. Today proved again how important art class is.

It was a delight to see the children interact with each other in a fun way. It was great seeing their creativity come alive. The kids used the pallets to mix paint colors and made really creative and fun picture frames.

Thanks for helping to make today such a fun day. Your donation put smiles on many faces.

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Comer

  • Wobble Chairs for the Academic Win!

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

Thank you for your donation. Your kind deed and generosity, really has made a difference in my classroom. As a result the academic lives of so many children has been positively impacted. My students are much more focused during lessons because of these chairs. So many kids have difficulty sitting still and as a result, can not focus on classwork. These chairs allow students to move and focus at the same time. Without interrupting a lesson, students will go and grab a wobble chair, bring it back to their desk and then start working hard. Sometimes, students like to separate themselves and now they have a place to sit and work in a way that works for them.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We appreciate your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Comer

  • Fractions Are Fun!

    Funded Jan 3, 2024

Thank you so much for your donation. Fractions are such a large part of 5th grade. Your donation of fraction strips helped make learning easy.

Many students find fractions to be difficult and abstract. It's a new concept and hard to grasp. Students used these fraction strips to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. Students used the strips to make equivalent fractions. They made learning fun and much easier. Fractions became more concrete. My students were excited for math and so eager to learn.

    Thank you again!”

  • School Supplies for September

    Funded Aug 11, 2023

Wow! What a September my class had! For the very first time, in my teaching career, all of my students had all the supplies they needed. It made jumping into learning so much easier.

Folders have helped keep work organized. Crayons have enabled us to do some art and Social Emotional Learning projects. We can brighten up our work and even solve some math problems easier! Paper has allowed students to complete tasks to make sure they are working to their full potential.

My class was filled with smiling faces and grateful hearts. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Comer

  • Make Social Emotional Learning and Lunch FUN

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

I can't begin to tell you how excited my class was when all the games arrived. Lunch has been transformed to a happy and interactive period. The students really look forward to lunch time. Their social emotional level has drastically improved. I see smiling faces all day long.

Prior to your donation, the kids dreaded lunch. They would just sit and talk or watch a movie. Now they beg for lunch. They interact with each other. I hear conversations about feelings and life. Your donation went way beyond kids just having fun.

    THANK YOU!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Comer

  • Make Math Fun!

    Funded Sep 11, 2021

I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for your generous donation. Because of you, each student in my class has their own person dry erase board and eraser to use, during each math class. It has helped make learning fun and so much easier.

Students are no longer afraid to attempt to solve problems because they can easily erase any incorrect work. They also love to look at the charts that I make on the chart paper.

This donation has helped make my teaching more effective and has led to a happy bunch of 5th graders. Thank you just isn't enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Comer

It's been a long 18 months for my 5th-grade class. Many of them haven't been in a classroom since March 2020. I can't wait to help welcome them back and make math class as fun as possible. My goal is to make students comfortable in math. I want them to know it's about trial and error. I am requesting individual dry erase boards and erasers so every child will have a hands-on and engaging way to calculate math. I am requesting chart paper so I can make engaging charts to assist with lessons.
