  • A Book is a Gift Students Can Open Everyday

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

I can’t wait to see my students faces when they see my library and get to book shop with their own personal book baggies and reading tools! Reading is already a difficult task for specific learners and thanks to you that task will now be exciting and filled with good educational practices that they can bring home along with their books in their book baggies and pointers ♥️. I am forever grateful of your generosity. This will affect every child that steps foot in my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Castro

  • Language Learners Moment to Shine!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

I can't thank you enough for giving my students flexible seating and centers that met their learning needs. The new resources are being used throughout the entire learning day.

Students are using the wobble chairs during small group instruction for reaching, math and literacy to help them stay focused on the content being taught and reviewed. I have used all of the learning language games to help language learners develop their vocabulary and work on forming sentences using the correct parts of speech.

I saw a great impact on my learners confidence, language skills, ELLs and non-ELLs and most importantly our relationships. Giving students the tools they need, with the help of all the donors, helped them flourish in an environment they felt comfortable to struggle, grow and learn in a community and I can't thank you all enough for giving us that.”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Get My Kiddos a Kidney Table!

    Funded Sep 27, 2021

I cannot begin to describe the excitement in the faces of my students when they saw our kidney table set up. I have never seen students so excited for small group instruction. Thanks to all of your donations, we have a comfortable space where students can learn and interact with one another and with myself during instruction.

Since receiving the kidney table a few months back, my class and I have been utilizing it in different ways during different subject blocks. During our morning routines, I pull my ELL students, 4-5 students, to go over vocabulary and sight words through Word Study. For reading, I have small groups come to the kidney table to work on similar skills reviewed during our whole group lesson or work on fundamental skills they need to progress on their reading.

One of the biggest ways we have utilized the kidney table is during math. All students are broken into small groups and go into math stations including myself being a station. I am able to meet with each group of students to teach the math lesson differentiated to meet the needs of everyone. Things as simple as a piece of furniture, have made a big difference and a huge impact on my students' lives and that wouldn't be possible if it weren't for all of you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Castro

Students need a place where they can feel comfortable to be challenged and learn effectively. Students who need extra support or need to be challenged further will need to stay on the floor area to meet in a small group even longer. When we sit on the floor for that amount of time for small group instruction, the students are not very comfortable. Having a kidney table can allow me to meet with 3-4 students, at the appropriate distance, while giving them their own little space to work independently or as a small group. Students can easily have access to me if they need support and they can also turn and talk to their peers who will be sitting beside them. Please help by donating anything you can to my project. I can't wait to have them all at my reach, comfortably!
