Our students are 7th and 8th graders in a public school. They are kind and have a deep sense of empathy for others. They are concerned about social justice. One of the ways our students can learn about social justice is through the safe lens of literature. One of our chosen books is Refugee by Alan Gratz. We need to purchase copies of this book in order that each student is able to have access to one. We will be reading and discussing this book in all four adolescent classrooms.
