Calming Area
Funded Apr 18, 2024Thank you so much for your kind contributions to our classroom! Materials like coloring pages, fidgets, bean bags, a clean rug, silencing headphones, and so much more helped to create a space of safe learning. Students are able to take control of their emotions and are able to find their own way of de-escalating and by solving their own problems.
Our class was so excited to see our calm space come together with all of the new materials. They couldn't wait to use the coloring pages with gel crayons and the the headphone for focusing!
For third grade students, and now for first graders, these materials have been able to bring a sense of zen into our students who need a calm space.”

Funded Aug 12, 2022Thank you again so much for the amazing contributions to our kindergarten classroom! Our classroom library has become a place of comfort, adventure, and learning thanks to all the new books and book buddies this project brought us. In kindergarten, students begin to read and creating an exciting environment for them to grow their curiosity engages our young learners to be successful readers in the future!
One of our favorite series in our classroom is Pete the Cat and being able to bring those books into the library is such a joy! Scholars are excited to finish their work and read in the library and their eyes spark with excitement when they see all the Pete the Cat books. The National Geographic Readers are perfect for our curious learners who love to learn about how the world works-from animals to neighborhood helpers. There was also an addition of diverse books that become windows and mirrors for our classroom community.
Our Kindergarten Scholars will continue to become amazing readers and explore different adventures through books. Thank you so much for contributing to this amazing experience for our class to grow and learn!”
