  • Gyotaku - Japanese Fish Prints

    Funded Nov 11, 2024

Thank you all for your generous donations and interest in my printing project which will help provide my students a unique printing technique. The students are going to have a blast learning about Gyotaku and creating their colorful fish prints.

Stay tuned for pictures of their process and their prints”

  • Spark Young Artists' Imagination With New Art Materials and Tools

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Thank you for your donations. The students have enjoyed working with the array of art materials. The 4th and 5th graders were introduced to charcoal as the medium to create their imaginary landscapes exploring charcoal pencils, kneaded erasers and smudged stumps to create range of grays to depict their imaginary places. It was their first time using the kneaded erasers to experiment not only to clean the unwanted smudges but also to create new values.

Another item that has been incredibly helpful are the 6 cups watercolor palettes. The students used them almost everyday to color mix their secondary colors using liquid watercolor. The diffusing leaf shaped paper also a hit with pre-k students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pérez
