  • Let's Get Movin'

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Walton scholars just had their first PBIS celebration using items donated and they LOVED every minute of it. They enjoyed rotating to the different stations to play UNO, Jenga and using the dart board. They also rotated outside to play soccer, jump rope, play basketball, dodge ball and use the skip ball ankle toy. The icing on the cake was potato sack race. They loved having this time to play freely and socialize with friends and siblings at school. The PBIS celebration was a huge success and they are already looking forward to our next celebration to honor their hard work and good behavior.”

  • Colorful Writing

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. I explained to my students about the Donors Choose program and how donors donate to provide educators with needed classroom supplies. They loved it and are sharing with their parents.

One of the donations was parts of speech. This helps students in counseling with creative writing and journaling. They can proof their work and this helps with preparing them for their writing portion of our state assesment. I also have an organizer that helps with organizing classwork and art projects for different grade levels. All of the other items are used for showcasing student work, playing calm music in class and keeping them on time with completing assignments. We really appreciate your generosity.”

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. These items will be used for our schools counseling program. They will be used to help support students in everyday life with social emotional, academic and other personal needs. Also, this helps to support classroom teachers in their efforts to support students. Thank you again for your support.”

  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS)

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My scholars will enjoy the books and activities in our guidance classes that they attend weekly. We have already begun character education lessons on bullying, self esteem and getting to know the counselor and services offered. This will be a great year. Thanks again and we really appreciate you!”

  • Help Me "FLEX" My Brain With Flexible Seats!

    Funded Nov 22, 2021

The flexible seating has been a huge help for the little that are very active. The flexible seats have really helped them focus and stay on task during our social/emotional learning time. They are able to stay seated and on task during lessons. They can also recall what they have learning to use in their daily lives. Our students really enjoy this time to discuss feelings and how to deal with everyday struggles. The teachers have also noticed a difference in students behavior with staying on task and completing assignments now that they can get their wiggles out while completing assignments. Thank you!!!”

  • Books, Books, The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

    Funded Sep 20, 2021

My scholars LOVE reading! They were so excited to see all the new books our counseling program received. We introduce new social emotional lessons each week with a different theme every month. These books will help our scholars make sense of the world around them. They can impart morals and values to them and on their level. Our new books teach them empathy, and the difference between right and wrong. Also, children who can't read are unable to learn and this impacts their schooling and social/emotional development. Giving them a boost of self-esteem makes all the difference. We really appreciate all of the books and will enjoy reading them in class. Thank you so much!”

Books, the gift that keeps on giving. The books I am excited to bring to my scholars will help with their coping skills, as well as the day-to-day struggles, that many of us face, even as adults. These books were written by a teacher, who has experience with helping young scholars know that they are not alone and the appropriate responses to their feelings. They teach about tattling, controlling your voice, worrying, blaming other, hygiene and the list goes on. I would like to show my scholars that these are very common and that they too can overcome these issues like the characters in the story.
