I want my learners to have a diverse library where they can choose books with characters that look like them, have similar cultures, backgrounds, and abilities that inspire them to be the best they can be. I want my students to continue to be excited about books and reading.
“Show me a family of readers, and I will show you the people who move the world." My class is a family and they LOVE to read, so my students will undoubtedly have an impact on this world.
Like many children (and adults) my students are hands-on learners. This year they are going to be learning the foundations of some very difficult concepts like multiplication, division, telling time, and fractions. Math manipulatives are essential for students to understand and be able to apply these concepts.
