They arrived just before we started these units in math and made a huge difference in the way that my students were able to connect with these concepts in tactile and authentic ways!
When learning about time, these clocks let students see the relationship between minutes and hours and to recognize how the minute hand may be very close to the next hour, but that doesn't mean that the hour has changed yet. Without seeing how the hands changed on these little clocks, I'm confident that this concept would have been far more difficult to grasp.
The magnetic coins gave me the ability to put coins on the whiteboard that all students could see at the same time. Being able to physically move and sort them in full view of the class helped students to learn to count their value.”
