I am an RSP teacher working with 5th and 6th graders. My objective is to help them stay focused and on task in their general education classes as much as possible, in order to get the most out of their education. However, most of them have trouble sitting still and avoiding distractions. Wiggle seat cushions and sensory fidgit toys would help them immensely in class. Their teachers have bought some with their own money that the students share, and I've already seen the difference it makes when they have had their turns. It would be amazing if they could have their own everyday in school.
By donating to this project you'll get to help an amazing group of students sit still, stay focused, and ultimately have better access to the learning their peers are already accessing. The products I have chosen will help my students by softening the sensory input from the rest of the world, allowing them to focus. Wiggle seat cushions active a student's pressure and touch sensors, through the spikes, helping to prevent distractions from other sensory information. My students also have a lot of energy and no where to channel it. Wiggle seat cushions allow for movement without the students getting out of their seat. Fidgit toys give students an outlet for their energy, so that they can stay focused on the lesson. This project will help my students immensely!
