Serious about Series Books
Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you for your generous donation of series books to the school library. Students of many different grades enjoy reading these popular titles, and it's great to have additional copies available so more readers have access. Series books are great for encouraging repeated reading too, as kids who get hooked on a series can become repeat readers to find out more when following along with their favorite characters.
The Spanish versions of these series books are also being enjoyed by students. It's great to have popular titles available to students who are learning English so they can also enjoy reading these same popular texts.”

Funded Nov 28, 2022I want to thank you so much for supporting our 122 school library. It is amazing to have the library open to students once again after its temporary closure during the pandemic, and the supplies you generously donated have been a huge help getting things off the ground this year.
Older students have benefited from having a supply of highlighters available to annotate non-fiction articles and help highlight inferences in short stories. And the post-it easel pages are great for quickly posting information for the whole class to see and remember from week to week.
Younger and upper grade elementary students loved the 100th Day of School bookmarks that were given out in the library when we recently celebrated this annual milestone during the week of 2/15/23. Kids were able to color them in and personalize them. First graders have also been enjoying getting stickers from the 8th grade Student Council volunteers that help some classes to earn community service credit during their lunch period. The paper from this project is also the perfect format for younger students to illustrate and write when they respond to literature.
The paper towels, tissues, and TpT resources are also much appreciated! Thank you!”

Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking...Online and IRL!
Funded May 5, 2022Thank you so much for your generous support of my students. The paper and the educational resources your donation enabled me to provide for my classes were greatly valued and appreciated.
The access to the many learning resources available on the Teacherspayteachers site helped me find the perfect materials for different groups of students. My accelerated classes reading the memoir I Am Malala loved the two day Webquest that we completed to build background knowledge before diving into Malala's amazing story. And as another example my English Language Learners benefitted from vocabulary resources and chapter summaries that assisted their study of the novel Frightful's Mountain that we explored during the end of the year; they were able to view these materials as slides on our class SmartBoard, a powerful visual to aid in understanding the text.
The printer paper was also greatly appreciated in class. Your generosity made a positive impact in the lives of New York City students! Thank you again for your support.”

Keeping Class Clean as We Go Back to School
Funded Dec 13, 2021I want to thank you all for your generous support for my classroom project. My students and I have been using the paper towels, tissues, cleaning wipes, and Swiffer dusting supplies that you provided us with every day at school.
A request to students to donate these kind of supplies at the beginning of the school year only yielded one roll of paper towels for the classroom, so having these basic supplies in stock has been truly helpful. The school doesn't regularly provide these items for all classrooms, and many students' families have difficulty being able to afford to send in any extra supplies.
Thank you again for helping us keep the classroom clean and healthy during the first year of regular full-time in-person schooling in NYC since the pandemic began. Everyone is breathing easier in a less dusty classroom, and enjoying surfaces that have been wiped clean. Your assistance and generosity are sincerely appreciated!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Terranova
